Note:  Avoid during pregnancy.  Do not apply neat to the skin.  Not suitable for infants.

Comments: 
Nutmegs are dried ripe seeds of the fruit. When the ripe fruits fall and naturally split along a lateral groove, they are collected and the seeds, which are covered with scarlet arrilode (mace), are removed. After drying, the mace is removed from the shells which are then further dried until the kernel rattles within the shell. The brittle shell is then removed to reveal the nutmeg.
